Work With Me
Therapy for Relational Patterns
& Family of Origin in Ontario
There’s a moment that stops you cold. You hear a tone in your own voice — or catch a thought pattern — and you recognize it immediately. That’s not mine. That came from somewhere else. Understanding where it came from is the first step to choosing something different.
This is individual therapy for adults. I do not offer couples or family sessions.
What this work explores
Your individual story.
Psychodynamic therapy approaches relational patterns through the lens of your individual story. We might explore:
- Attachment patterns formed in early childhood and how they show up in adult relationships
- Family dynamics — both past and present — and the roles you were assigned or assumed
- Intergenerational patterns: what was inherited, what was never named, what you want to consciously break
- The experience of becoming a parent and what your own childhood brings into that
- The gap between the relational life you have and the one you actually want
Intergenerational patterns
When the past shows up in the present.
For many professionals, the patterns most worth examining didn’t begin with them. They were passed down — through silence, through survival strategies, through the way emotion was or wasn’t allowed in the family you grew up in.
For those from multicultural or immigrant backgrounds, this can carry additional layers: navigating the tension between inherited values and chosen ones, between the person you were raised to be and the person you’ve become.
This work doesn’t require blame. It requires curiosity.
